Your soul is your mind, will and emotions. It encompasses what you want, think and feel. We need to get our soul in order if we want to have order in our lives and in our home. This is the first step to a wellness based lifestyle. If our soul is in chaos, we will spin our wheels all day long and are emotionally drained by the end of the day.
Here are my suggestions for steps to take to manage a healthy soul:
-
Make a decision to have your will in pursuit of and yielding to God’s way and path for your life. Mathew 6:33 – “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
-
Start your day with gratitude and prayer to set the tone of your day in a positive direction.
-
Reflect on your days and plan for your tomorrows. The night before, plan your day, appointments, priorities, etc. for the following day and reflect on how your current day went and what you felt about the day and what went well and what things you can change for the better.
-
Write out the top 3 most important things for you to do the next day and do them first. Keep an eraser board on a wall or on your fridge so you can boldly write your top 3 priorities for the day and erase them as those tasks are competed. To help you decide which 3 things to make top priority, consider what 3 tasks will give you the most return for your time investment.
Your soul can be at rest after you have completed the top 3 tasks. This will help put your mind at peace for the day. After completing your top 3 tasks, evaluate how you feel and what you have accomplished then determine what other tasks you want to move onto from there. It’s best to do little bits with consistency then to have an all or nothing mindset!
